Function
Mitochondrial protein that plays a regulatory role in cellular metabolism, particularly under hypoxic conditions. Downregulates mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I activity under hypoxia, reduces oxygen consumption and ROS and helps cells adapt by switching to glycolysis.
