Carbapenem-hydrolyzing beta-lactamase KPC-2
Also known as: KPC-1, KPC-2, bla, kpc, kpc1
Function
Class A beta-lactamase which confers resistance to the beta-lactam antibiotics, including penicillins, cephalosporins and carbapenems. Acts via hydrolysis of the beta-lactam ring. Has penicillin-, cephalosporin- and carbapenem-hydrolyzing activities.
